Scholar David Berroa presenting at the BPS Science & Engineering Fair

On March 5th, 2016, ROUTES scholars David Berroa and Savannah Gregor together with researcher Ljiljana Rajic participated in the 70th Annual Boston Public Schools’ Citywide Science and Engineering Fair that was held at Northeastern University. The Fair was organized by Boston Public Schools’ Science Department, Science from Scientists, and Northeastern University’s Center for STEM Education. Berroa and Gregor presented designs for solar-powered electrochemical groundwater remediation technology to the public and students participating in the Fair.

Berroa, Gregor, and Rajic established connections with the organizers of the Science Club for Girls and Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts to contribute to activities within the organizations. they will visit some of the local public schools to talk about environmental health-related issues and demonstrate some of the experimental work developed by Prof. Akram Alshawabkeh research group.
