RISE is an annual exposition showcasing the research of undergraduate students, graduate students, post-docs, and faculty from all Northeastern colleges. According to News@Northeastern, this year, “over 2,000 industry leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, and technology enthusiasts attended the annual event, which culminated in an awards ceremony in East Village.”
ROUTES Scholars prepared posters and pitches ahead of time, summarizing their research goals, the progress made so far, and most importantly, the impact that environmental health research holds for affected communities. Faculty mentors and ROUTES administrators, including ROUTES Co-Director Akram Alshawabkeh, visited the exposition to see the student presentations and provide constructive feedback. Students also had the opportunity to see what their peers were working on in more detail, highlighting the wide range of research that is included in the environmental health field.
